The Crisis of Israeli Democracy and the Palestinian Occupation – Monday 13 March

– with speakers Alon Liel, Israeli diplomat, and Ashraf Al-Ajrami, Palestinian minister

The recent attempt to weaken Israel’s judicial system is unprecedented. It is profoundly disturbing Jews and people who believe in a Jewish and democratic Israel. Violence and unrest in the Occupied Territories, and settlers’ rampages, which Israel’s own government has effectively legitimised, remind us how unsustainable is the “managing the conflict” paradigm. The protests and grave constitutional crisis inside Israel, the unrest and violence in the West Bank, and Palestinian political anger and despair are like nothing we have seen before.

On Monday 13 March, Meretz UK hosts The Crisis of Israeli Democracy and the Palestinian Occupation: Reporting from the Field – with speakers Alon Liel, Israeli diplomat, and Ashraf Al-Ajrami, Palestinian minister. For further information about Liel and Al-Ajrami, as well as other members of the five-strong delegation touring Britain, see about our speakers – http://www.meretz.org.uk/ashraf-al-ajrami-and-alon-liel/
