Dear members and friends, we are happy to update you about our forthcoming events and activities for November:

Sunday 4th Nov’ Meretz – Yachad-UK AGM at Hashomer House
6:00pm-7:30 Sharp! Meretz – Yachad UK Annual General
Meeting we invite you to take part and join in the discussion and help
the Meretz/ Yachad Committee formulate our programme
for the coming year. There will also be elections for the
officers of Meretz/ Yachad UK and you may nominate members
of Meretz/ Yachad UK for the posts. You must obtain the
agreement of the individual to stand for office and submit your
nominations by post or e-mail to arrive
before Sunday 4th November. The posts are: Chair, Secretary,
Treasurer, and Committee members.
Later on Sunday the 4th Nov’ at 8:00pm A Talk with Laura Miller:
Is being Jewish dependent on there being a supernatural Being?
What does being Jewish mean in a post-Holocaust world?
the origins of Humanism, Judaism and will answer questions about
how Humanist Judaism relates to the modern world and modern Jews.

Laura Miller is a madricha or lay leader o the Humanist Jewish movement.
The London Jewish Humanist Community
of which she is leader, is having regular meetings.
She is hoping that the movement will begin to grow in Britain,
as it has in the US and Israel.

N.B those who are coming for the evening Talk Only, please do
not come in before 7:30 when the AGM will finish.

Wed’ 28th Nov’ 7:30p A talk with Denise Marshall OBE, Executive Eaves
Housing, Eaves Women's Aid, The Lilith Project, The
POPPY Project.we have the pleasure to have this extremely
busy woman with us Denise will speak about Women Trafficking
in the UK (!!!) Meretz – Yachad UK See this issue as one of our high
priority topics. Denise recently has received her OBE at this year's award
ceremony for great services to disadvantaged women.
Come and join us, learn something about women trafficking and
thereby help to put a stop to it!

Hebrew classes for Meretz chaverim.

Complete beginners with Aviad Coka- Aviad is an experienced teacher,
has much patience and is pleasant to learn with.
Lessons will take place every Monday evening, 7:30pm at
Hashomer House from 19th Nov’. To enroll and confirm level
please call Aviad on 07962946467.
Two hours lessons will cost for Meretz-Yachad friends £8.

Beginner (not a completely beginners), intermediate and advanced Hebrew
lessons with Miri Grant-
Miri is a well known and experienced Hebrew teacher.
The lessons will take place every week at her home in Golders Green.

Meretz- Yachad has an arrangement with Steimatsky for Discount!
In addition Meretz will subsidise the cost of Hebrew books etc. to
our members on the circulation list.
